General surgeons, laparoscopic surgeons, bariatric surgeons, surgical fellows, residents, nurses and allied health professionals
OBJECTIVES
This program will provide attending surgeons a wide range of information related to new and established topics related to gastrointestinal surgery. Attendees will be able to learn how to flexible endoscopy is performed. They will also understand the skills that are needed to perform advanced laparoscopic foregut procedures and how to avoid and help manage potential complications. As a result of attending this activity, the learner should be able to:
  • Discuss basic and advanced concepts in flexible endoscopy
  • Review new emerging technologies in endoscopic surgery
  • Evaluate the indicators and techniques in revisional bariatric surgery
  • Review current treatment modalities of benign and malignant diseases of the foregut

In accordance with the Standards of Commercial Support Issued by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), Cleveland Clinic Florida requires resolution of all conflicts of interest to ensure CME activities are free of commercial bias. Disclosures will be identified in the activity syllabus. Presenters will also disclose discussion of off-label uses.
DESIGNATION OF CREDIT
Cleveland Clinic Florida designates this educational activity for a maximum of 27.25 AMA PRA Category 1 credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. An additional 8.25 credits will be awarded for the Natural Orifice Surgical Endoscopy Day.
OTHER CREDITS
Participants claiming CME credit for this activity may submit the credit hours to the American Osteopathic Association Council on Continuing Medical Education for Category 2 credit. Approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, NCE provider #2334, for 33.3 contact hours. Each nurse should claim only those hours that he/she actually spent in this educational activity.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you are unable to attend the course and must cancel your registration, a refund, less a $75 administrative processing fee will be returned if we are notified in writing, by fax, or by email by February 7, 2011. After this time no refunds will be issued. Cleveland Clinic Florida assumes no responsibility for any non-refundable costs associated with attending this meeting. We recommend that participants purchase trip cancellation insurance to cover airfare, hotel and registration fees.
